Curt’s Famous Meats has been serving Independence in the historic Maywood neighborhood since 1947.

Originally operated as a fruit stand, Curt’s has become well-known on the city’s west side as a purveyor of fine meats, fresh poultry and seafood. Curt’s carries a wide variety specialty foods ranging from the finest Kansas City strips and lamb to fine delicacies including quail and frog legs.

A true home-town business, Curt’s is owned and operated by Independence native Donna (Kearney) Pittman, only the market’s second owner in its longtime history. Curt’s predominatly female staff takes pride in serving customers from as far away as New York and California and strives to provide the best quality meats to its loyal clientele.
